What is the FPL Online Billing Program?

The FPL Online Billing Program helps you receive and pay your FPL bill using any online bill paying service. You can use your bank, financial software or other financial institution's service to review and pay your bill from any computer with Internet access.

Is the FPL Online Billing Program secure?

Yes. You are required to log in with the user name and the PIN number (or password) you create when you enroll. This process ensures that your access is secure.

How can I sign up for free FPL Online Billing Program with CheckFree?

Visit FPL's Use the Web and complete the enrollment screen by filling in your

  • address
  • phone number
  • Social Security number associated with the FPL account
  • e-mail address
  • FPL account number
  • checking account number and
  • bank route and transit number located on the bottom of your check.

Is there a charge for using CheckFree through the FPL Web site?

It's free to pay an FPL bill through FPL's Online Billing Program and at most banks such as Bank of America, Wachovia and SunTrust.

When will my FPL Online Billing Program be available to look at?

Your current FPL bill is available for viewing every 30 days if you enroll in CheckFree's FPL Online Billing Program. Past e-Bills are available to view for 12 months. An e-mail will be sent to you whenever your bill is posted on the Web. You will be notified of the amount and the due date with a link to CheckFree to view your account.

What if I forget to look at my FPL Online Billing Program?

If you are enrolled with CheckFree, you will receive an e-mail notifying you that your bill is available.

How will I know when the bill is ready?

An e-mail is sent each month when the regular bill is ready. A copy of the bill and bill insert is online.

Will the bill be sent through the U.S. Mail once I enroll with CheckFree?

No, once you are enrolled, regular monthly FPL bills will not be sent through the U.S. Mail. However, deposit statements and final notices will be sent through the mail. You also can print a paper copy of any bill for your records.

How far in advance do I need to schedule my payment?

As early as the next business day if scheduled before 5 PM, Eastern Standard Time (EST), the day before.

If you schedule your payment before 5:00 PM ET today, the earliest available payment date is the next business day. For example, if you schedule a payment on Monday before 5:00 PM ET, the earliest available payment date is the following Monday.

If you schedule your payment after 5:00 PM ET, the earliest available payment date is two business days from the current date. For example, if you schedule a payment on Monday after 5:00 PM ET, the earliest available payment date is the following Tuesday.

How long does the FPL Online Billing Program information stay on CheckFree's site online?

Bills and payments are accessible online for six months.

What if I forget the user name or PIN or need help?

1. On the Sign-in page, click the Forgot your sign-in ID or password link. The Password and Sign-in ID Assistance page opens.

2. Enter the e-mail address used when you enrolled for this service and follow the instructions on your screen.

3. If needed, there is the "Chat with us live" service on the MyCheckfree application, which will allow you to communicate directly with a live customer service representative.

Should I continue to pay my bill with a check until I receive my first FPL Online Billing Program?

Yes. You should continue to pay your bill as usual until you receive your bill through your online service. You should receive your FPL Online Billing Program around the same time of the month as you used to receive your paper bill. If you have already paid your bill using a check, and your first FPL Online Billing Program is a duplicate, you can just file it away and pay your next bill using the service.
