Community OutreachBuildSmart for HumanityBuildSmart is FPL's program to help construct energy-efficient new homes. Since 2005, FPL has donated over $1 million to incorporate BuildSmart energy-efficiency features into more than 430 Habitat for Humanity homes. The improvements reduce the homeowners’ monthly electric bills by up to 30 percent in comparison to similar homes not upgraded to BuildSmart standards. FPL has sponsored 15 Habitat for Humanity homes throughout Florida. BuildSmart homes are inspected and certified by trained FPL energy experts. |
