Professor Whys Powerful Adventure is a FREE school assembly program that brings science to life through fun and interactive demonstrations. The entertaining and educational program helps to prepare students for the science FCAT and offers an exciting way for students to get enthusiastic about science.

Since 2008, over 145 shows performed for approximately 39,500 students.

Presentation

Explores cleaner, greener ways to generate electricity, like wind, solar and human power

Explains how electricity is generated for use in homes, schools and businesses

Applies FCAT and science benchmarks outlined in Sunshine State Standards for units on electricity, matter and energy

Show Length - 45 minutes (additional 60 minutes for setup and take down)

Audience

Public Schools (Grades 4 – 9) in FPL’s service area. Preferred audience size - 200 or more students. Teachers must remain with students at all times.

Equipment

Professor Whys arrives with equipment and sound system.

Location

Large climate-controlled indoor space, such as a cafeteria or auditorium with standard electrical outlets. Performance area is 10 feet by 10 feet. Seating begins 6 feet from the performance area.
