Teacher Workshops at the FPL Energy Encounter

As partners in science education FPL's Energy Encounter offers several workshops for teaching professionals each year.

When the workshops are offered

• The three-day nuclear energy workshop is usually offered in the fall.
• An FCAT science workshop is usually offeren in January.

Description of workshops

Each workshop provides:

• an in-depth look at energy resources or FCAT benchmarks
• hands-on demonstrations by educational specialists
• free classroom materials
• financial stipend for substitute coverage

Workshop credit

Teachers who attend the nuclear energy workshop earn 18 in-service credits.
The FCAT workshop earns 6 in-service credits.
