Corporate Volunteerism

FPL employees and their families donate thousands of volunteer hours each year to make a difference in their communities. The FPL Community Relations team and a group of employees called the Community Volunteer Corps coordinate numerous company projects to benefit nonprofit organizations throughout the state. In 2012 employee volunteers contributed more than 38,400 hours in their local communities. Additionally, more than 200 community organizations have employees volunteering on their boards.

Power to Care Week

More than 1,200 volunteers participated in 26 community volunteer projects in 11 Florida counties during FPL's fifth annual Power to Care Week March 4-9, 2013. Volunteers, including employees and their friends and families and executive leadership, rolled up their sleeves to help clean beaches and restore dunes, landscape gardens, spruce up parks, beautify schools, build homes for underprivileged families and more - all in an effort to give back to the communities we serve. Over 4,800 volunteer hours were contributed to our communities throughout Florida.
