Community Outreach
Community Volunteer Corps
FPL Community Volunteer Corps and their families donate thousands of volunteer hours each year to make a difference in their communities. These FPL employee volunteers also coordinate numerous company projects to benefit a number of nonprofit organizations. In 2008 employee volunteers contributed over 13,700 hours in their local communities.
Power to Care Day
On April 18, 2009 as part of National Volunteer Week and to celebrate Earth Day, FPL Group employees participated in the first Power to Care Day. In just a single day 1,000 employees volunteered in various service projects. Volunteers cleaned up parks and beaches, planted trees, served the homeless, built Habitat homes, and packed boxes for deployed troops. Over 3,800 hours were contributed to our communities throughout Florida.
