When you take a vacation or leave for an extended period of time,
you will need to determine if the electricity will be needed during
your absence. Then use the following tables to find out what action
to take.
Electricity is required
If electricity is required during your absence, follow the steps
in the table below.

When electricity is not required during your absence, follow the
steps in the table below.

- discontinue billing and
- leave the service available.

To keep cost to a minimum while
you're away, remember to turn off
- all unnecessary lights and appliances
- your water heater and
- your air conditioner(s).

Unplug electronic equipment, such
as TV, stereo, etc. |

When you leave, you turn
off the electricity at the main fuse or circuit panel. |

When you return, you turn
the electricity back on at the main fuse or circuit panel. |

Then, before you return, complete
our online Open
or Reopen an Account form and we'll resume monthly billing.

Note: There
will be a $14.88 service charge to reopen the account and
you may need to repay your deposit.
If you are going to be away less than two months and no electricity
will be used, it is cheaper to leave the service on and pay
the minimum bill. |
