What are BuildSmart's HVAC eligibility requirements?

To be eligible for BuildSmart^TM certification, HVAC equipment must meet the requirements listed in the following table:

Equipment	Requirement
Entire installation (all equipment)	The entire installation must comply with any: national state or local requirements. These requirements pertain to the system's: sizing design installation and operation.
Efficiency rating	The efficiency rating must have a SEER rating of 11 or more for both: air conditioning and heat pump systems.
Hard start kits	Hard start kits are: required for systems with a cooling capacity of 48,000 BTUH or more must be approved by the manufacturer and can be installed by the factory or in the field.
A/C Filter	The A/C filter must: be easily accessible and the location shown to the homebuyer.
Manuals	Manuals must be given to the homebuyer for equipment: operation and maintenance.
