What are BuildSmart^TM certification standards?

BuildSmart^TM certifications are based on the energy efficiency rating produced by the current Florida Energy Efficiency Code for Building Construct Energy Performance Index (EPI) rating.

To qualify for BuildSmart^TM certification, homes must achieve a minimum EPI rating of 90. The specific certification levels are shown in the table below.

Gold	70 or below
Silver	80-71
Bronze	90-81

What are BuildSmart^TM program charges?

All BuildSmart^TM program charges shall be reported in the Energy Conservation Cost Recovery True-up and Projections filings with schedules

• CT-2 and
• C-2.

BuildSmart^TM program charges include but are not limited to

• payroll and benefits
• material and supplies
• outside services and
• advertising.

What technical specifications must be met?

Homes constructed to meet BuildSmart^TM certification requirements must meet technical specifications in the following systems:

• air duct installation
• HVAC and
• heat recovery units.
