FPL's Everglades Mitigation Bank (EMB) restoration project plays a key role in restoring this unique wetland to its natural state. The 13,249 acre project located in southern Miami-Dade County is home to several ecosystems that support 46 protected species of plant and animal life. With its large size and unique location, the Everglades Mitigation Bank is a major contributor to the seamless corridor between Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park.
The EMB site encompasses more habitat types than smaller parcels and the large scale and habitat diversity foster a greater variety of wetland plants and animals.
