Rare blue lobster
|
Seabrook Station's Science & Nature Center is the home for a very rare blue lobster, affectionately known as Chilly Willy. Marine scientists believe a genetic condition causes the blue pigmentation, seen in only about one in two million lobsters.
The male lobster came from the Gulf of Maine where a lobsterman pulled him up in a trap. Now Willy has found a comfortable permanent home at our Science & Nature Center. |
