We are committed to an ongoing dialogue with our Turkey Point and South Miami-Dade neighbors on the proposal to add a new, environmentally advanced, natural gas-fired generating unit to our existing power plant site near Florida City.

Sharing plant expansion plans with
the Greater Homestead/Florida City Chamber
of FPL's Turkey Point community outreach team provided
a presentation to Chamber members on the company's plans
to add a new generating unit to the South Miami-Dade site.
Attending the April general membership lunch meeting at

Broadcasting the weather
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently added a new weather transmitter -- NOAA Weather Radio Station WNG-663 courtesy of FPL. The station transmits from Princeton, Florida, on a frequency of 162.425 MHz, serving south Miami-Dade County and the Upper Keys, and originating from the National Weather Service on the main campus of Florida International University.
