Our online payment extension offers flexibility in paying an FPL bill to qualifying customers.

The online payment extension is provided to temporarily extend the due date of the bill for those situations when a customer is in need.

Factors used when making a payment extension

Several factors are used when we consider granting a payment extension for a customer. Some of the factors include

  • compliance to prior payment arrangements
  • deposit coverage
  • length of service
  • past due amount and
  • timeliness of prior payments

How a payment extension works

We will review the status of your FPL account to determine if a temporary payment extension can be granted. If your account is eligible, we will offer you an extended date to pay your bill.

Protection provided by a payment extension

This extension protects you from disconnection of service through the extended date.

Final notice

It is possible that you will receive a final notice for payment of a past due bill even if a payment extension has been granted.

Additional deposit

This extension does not prevent your payment from being considered late, which could lead to an additional deposit being billed to your account.

Late payment charges

Your account may incur a late payment charge of 1.5% on your next billing statement for any past due charges, including those charges that have been granted a payment extension.

Confirmation

If a payment extension is granted for your account, you will receive an immediate online confirmation and an e-mail will be sent the next business day.
