High-Efficiency Lighting Systems that Qualify for FPL's Lighting Program

Lighting Technology Type

Must be installed with the following equipment

Regular and low-mercury T-8 lamps

electronic ballasts

Compact fluorescents

screw-in (with a locking device) in hard-wired fixtures

Delamp

  • reflectors or polarized louvers
  • tri-phosphor lamps
  • electronic ballasts

New hard-wired fixtures

  • high pressure sodium
  • fluorescents
  • metal halide
  • compact fluorescents or
  • low pressure sodium

Hard-wired fixture current limiters

low wattage lamps, such as

  • 40w F40s
  • 75w F96s
  • 110w F96Hos or
  • 215w F96VHOs

Circuited current limiters

electronic ballasts with maximum wattage lamps, such as

  • 40w F40s
  • 75w F96s
  • 110w F96Hos or
  • 215w F96VHOs

Note: Circuited current limiters

  • cannot be bypassed
  • must meet requirements for fixture current limiters and
  • users of these must provide a professional engineer-certified circuit diagram.
