Need help using our site? Following are some answers to frequently asked questions.

What will I need the first time I log in?

You will need your FPL account number and the Social Security, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number for the account holder.

Register now to gain access to your FPL account(s) online. Registration is

  • Quick
  • Easy, and
  • Allows you to create your own personal user ID and password.

You will be asked to add your FPL account when you register. The next time you access your account online, you will only need your user ID and password. It's that simple.

If you have more than one account, you can add any or all of them to your user ID and password and you will only have to log in once.

What is a valid user ID and password?

Your user ID and password should be

What if I forget my user ID?

FPL's Forgotten User ID feature helps you retrieve your forgotten User ID via e-mail, after prompting you for information you provided at registration, such as your FPL account number and the last 6 digits of the Social Security, Social Insurance, or Tax ID number (SSN/SIN/TIN) corresponding to your Bill Account. If the information you provide is correct, your FPL User ID will be automatically sent to the e-mail address corresponding to your FPL.com Web Registration Profile.

What if I forget my password?

If you forget your password, or your password is not working for some reason, you can create a new one if you can provide the following information:

  • Exact user ID
  • E-mail address (used when you registered), and
  • The security answer.

You chose one of the following security questions when you registered:

  • Make or model of your first car?
  • Middle name of your Father?
  • Middle name of your first child?
  • Name of the street you grew up on?
  • Name of your favorite teacher?
  • Name of your first employer?
  • Name of your first school?
  • Your best friend in high school?
  • Your favorite childhood TV show?
  • Your high school mascot?

When you fill out the Forgotten Password form, you will be prompted to create a new one online.

Can I change my password?

Yes. Log in with your current user ID and password then click on Change Password. You will be prompted to enter your new password twice.

Is my personal information secure?

Yes. Whenever we ask you to send personal and confidential information over the Internet, we first establish a "secure session" using encryption technology. During a secure session, our computer exchanges key information with your computer to create a private conversation that only your computer and FPL's computer can understand. View our Privacy Policy for more information.

Why does my session expire?

Sessions expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. This is done in order to

  • Protect your privacy in case you forget to log out, and
  • Reduce server load.

In order to continue once your session expires, you will need to log in again.

I hit a button and nothing happens. Why?

If you hit a button or click on a link and nothing happens for an unusually long period, or logging in takes too long, your browser is "hanging." This means that it is waiting for information from a server. At certain times during the day, the network connection between your computer and ours becomes busy and sometimes you have to wait a little longer for a response. It may help to

  • Click "reload"
  • Click "refresh," or
  • Try your connection at a later time.

What are cookies, and do I have to use them?
