Future Solar Energy Centers

As part of our commitment to deliver reliable, affordable, clean energy to our customers, we have announced a groundbreaking ’30-by-30’ plan to install more than 30 million solar panels by 2030. We have been leading the smart, cost-conscious expansion of solar in Florida for more than a decade and now we are adding even more solar, at a rapid pace, while still keeping customer bills among the lowest in the nation.

There are several solar energy centers currently under construction and scheduled to be completed by summer 2021.

Our goal is to make Florida a leader in solar energy that keeps costs down for our customers, helps to keep the Sunshine State beautiful, and, in the process, creates local construction jobs.

Supporting Local Jobs

At the height of construction, each solar site is expected to employ about 200 people. We’re also proud to partner with Veterans Florida, Indian River State College, and other organizations to connect U.S. military veterans with careers in solar energy.

Creating Sanctuaries

We’re helping keep Florida beautiful by partnering with Audubon Florida to plant native grasses and wildflowers on the grounds of our solar power plants. These landscapes will attract butterflies, honeybees and other critical pollinators.

Through the use of emerging technologies such as battery storage, we’re moving Florida forward and creating a stronger, smarter grid.
