Hometown heroes

Meet compassionate hometown heroes who rallied to aid their communities in the aftermath of destructive hurricanes.

In 2022, after watching waters rise and winds tear through North Port, Florida, Adam and Gary teamed up to rescue thousands of their neighbors. Adam, a boat captain, and Gary, a fire department lieutenant, helped people to safety after Hurricane Ian.

As a local business owner, Vickie understands the importance of community. After Hurricane Ian, Vickie and her family worked with community members to mobilize her food truck and prepare meals for her neighbors, first responders and National Guardsmen.

For more than 30 years, Andy has worked as a certified flight registered nurse, dedicated to serving the panhandle community. Following Hurricane Michael, he tirelessly worked for more than a week, transporting those in need of medical assistance.

It takes a community, from first responders to hometown heroes, to overcome the challenges a storm leaves behind. We stand alongside first responders, ready to respond and work around the clock until everyone's power is restored.
