“Kilowatt Kitchen” is an action-packed live performance energizing elementary schools throughout Florida. Sponsored by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), the interactive school assembly is made possible with help from actors with The National Theatre for Children (NTC).
More than 50,000 students across the state will be brought into the world of “Kilowatt Kitchen.” Together, the students and Lorraine Quiche are working to realize Quiche’s dream of opening her own restaurant. Unfortunately, her top chef, Chuck Wagon, has been wasting energy and now the power’s gone out! Without electricity, Quiche will get a bad review from food critic Eggs Benedict Arnold. During the adventure, students will learn about how electricity and energy are made, the uses of energy and how they can help conserve energy for future generations. FPL has sponsored live theater performance shows for the past 13 years in schools across Florida. FPL is committed to education and enriching students’ experiences, as they relate to science and being environmentally conscious.
