Access building energy usage data to support your energy management goals

Pilot program available for qualifying City of Miami building owners and property managers

FPL is committed to delivering reliable energy and keeping bills as low as possible for our customers. As part of that commitment, we offer tools and resources designed to help customers better understand and manage their energy use.

The City of Miami's Building Efficiency 305 Benchmarking Program enables qualifying building owners and property managers to request aggregated energy useage data to support benchmarking and energy management efforts.

FPL is proud to support customers with convenient access to energy insights that can help inform operational decisions, identifying efficiency opportunities and support long-term building planning.

Eligibility requirements for requesting aggregated energy usage data

For buildings with five or more electric meters:

  • The requestor must be the building owner or authorized property management company and must be able to authenticate an active FPL business account associated with the property.
  • Other requestors must provide a notarized Letter of Authorization.

For buildings with fewer than five electric meters, or where one account represents more than 50% of the building's energy usage:

  • The requestor must be the owner or authorized management company for all meters associated with the property and maintain an active FPL account for each meter.
  • Or, the requestor must provide a notarized Letter of Authorization from each tenant.

How to request energy usage data

Follow these steps to submit your request:

  1. Complete the Energy Data Request Form and Letter of Authorization form (if applicable).
  2. Download and complete the Building Information Template.
  3. Email completed forms to Energy-DataRequest@fpl.com.

Building benchmarking can help property owners better understand whole-building energy performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and manage energy costs over time.

FPL continues to explore ways to provide customers with innovative tools, resources and energy solutions designed to support their business and energy management goals.

Important information

At this time, aggregated building energy usage data is only available to customers participating in the City of Miami pilot program. FPL continues to evaluate opportunities to expand access to additional customers in the future.

Customers outside the pilot program may continue to access account usage information through FPL.com or coordinate directly with tenants, as applicable.
