How to apply and what to expect:

  • Complete and submit the On Call enrollment form above
  • An FPL customer service representative will contact you about which home appliances you would like to enroll in On Call
  • An FPL-approved contractor will call you at the phone number you provided to schedule an installation appointment
  • During the in-home appointment, an FPL-approved contractor will connect a small energy-management device to your selected appliances. Please be sure that there is clear access to the appliances you would like to enroll.
  • Once the On Call device(s) is installed and activated in FPL's system, you will begin receiving your monthly credits
  • Safety is our top priority. Read about the measures we’re taking to keep you safe.

Qualifying appliances:

  • Central air conditioning (A/C) (required)
  • Central electric heating (required, if applicable)
  • Electric water heater
  • Single-speed pool pump for in-ground pools

Program benefits:

  • Receive a monthly credit on your electric bill - more than $90 a year, even if we never turn off your appliances
  • Help the environment by deferring power plants from being built
  • Help control electrical demand during peak periods or emergency situations

At FPL, safety is our top priority

We’re closely monitoring developments related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and taking appropriate precautions to protect the health and safety of our customers, employees, and contractors. Safety protocols are based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and in accordance with all state and local guidelines.

Our Care Center representative will tell you about the measures we’re taking to keep everyone safe. The contractor dispatched to your home for your appointment will further explain our safety protocol along with how to complete your On Call program enrollment.

Contractor safety protocol includes:

  • Self-health checks before the start of each work day 
  • Wear a mask while performing work
  • Frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing through the day 
  • Maintain 6 ft. distance at all times
  • Contractor will mark off their work space to ensure social distancing
  • Tools, supplies, and vehicles will be sanitized after each visit
