How geothermal works:

Geothermal systems use the earth’s near-constant ground temperature to provide one of the highest energy efficiencies for heating and cooling available today.

Geothermal systems connect heat pumps with a network of underground pipes. These underground loops are used as heat exchangers, transferring energy to and from the earth, to provide warmth in the winter and cooling in the summer.

This renewable energy, in conjunction with heat pump technology, maintains comfortable indoor temperatures and dramatically reduces heating and cooling costs.
