What do you need help with?

Preparing for my electrical assessment

During your electrical assessment, you’ll be asked to submit photos of your electrical panel, charger location and other areas of your home to help determine installation requirements. These photos allow us to plan for a hassle-free installation without the need to make multiple visits to your home.

I can’t find my 240-volt outlet permit number

If you’re enrolling in the equipment-only option, you’ll need a permitted 240-volt outlet. During your electrical assessment, you’ll be asked to provide the original, valid permit number so we can verify the installation.

If you don’t have your permit number:

  • Contact your local municipality. Many cities and counties allow you to search permit records online using your home address.
  • Contact the electrician or home builder who installed your 240-volt outlet. They may be able to provide the permit information. For newly constructed homes, the permit may have been issued under the builder’s master permit rather than an individual permit for your home. Your builder can help identify the appropriate permit information.

If you're unable to obtain a valid permit number, you'll need to reenroll under the full installation option.

I can’t find my main breaker/service disconnect switch

During your electrical assessment, you’ll be asked to provide a photo of the amperage label on your home’s main breaker/service disconnect switch. This helps us verify your home’s electrical service and determine your installation requirements.

Your main breaker/service disconnect switch is typically located in one of the following places.

  • Outside your home: Inside a combination meter panel, located beneath or beside your electric meter.

Preparing for my installation

Use our installation day checklist to learn what to expect and how to prepare.

Your vehicle is required to be present during your installation appointment so your electrician can test the charger and verify it works properly with your specific model. If your vehicle is not available, final testing cannot be completed and your installation may need to be rescheduled.
