Ask the Energy Expert

Every week, our email fills up with the most common question we get from customers: “How do I get my A/C rebate?” The answer is simple, but there’s one step you can’t skip! Whether you’re planning ahead or your A/C just called it quits, here’s how to make sure you get your instant savings. Bookmark this page for future reference.

Fast track your $200 rebate

  1. Choose the right system: Your new A/C must be a SEER2 15.2 rated unit or higher and include both indoor and outdoor units for a residential home.
  2. Pick an FPL-approved PIC: Installation must be completed by one of our Participating Independent Contractors (PICs). This is the step most customers miss! Find a PIC before you buy it. See our list at fpl.com/picsearch
  3. Schedule and install: Contact your chosen PIC to schedule installation. They’ll handle the rest.
  4. Instant rebate: Your $200 rebate appears as a credit on your invoice—no forms, no waiting.

Why customers miss out

Many customers upgrade their A/C, then ask about the rebate, only to find out they didn’t use an approved PIC. Don’t let that happen to you!
