Existing Suppliers: Get Ready for our New Centralized Procurement Platform

Introducing GEP Smart: A new procurement platform for our valued suppliers

On Oct. 1, 2025, NextEra Energy and its subsidiaries, including Florida Power & Light (FPL), will transition to a new centralized procurement platform: GEP Smart. This change is designed to improve the way we work with our valued suppliers by streamlining the purchase order and invoicing process.

What to Expect:

  • Faster invoice processing

  • Fewer manual errors with real-time visibility into order and invoice status

  • No network fees to use GEP Smart

  • Support available through the GEP Smart help desk

What You Need to Know:

  • Current suppliers will receive an email from GEP Smart with onboarding instructions regarding the required registration with this new platform.

  • Supplier onboarding and training will be essential to ensure a smooth transition.

  • The Oct. 1 go-live is for material and service suppliers working with the Power Generation Business (PGD) and will impact the procure-to-pay workflow.

    • Other NextEra Energy business units, including Engineering and Construction but excluding Nuclear, will transition to the platform in March 2026. Suppliers that support Nuclear Plants only will not be affected by this change.
  • PGD suppliers not onboarded by the Oct. 1 go-live date may experience delays in payment and processing.
