Introducing GEP Smart: A new procurement platform for our valued suppliers
NextEra Energy, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), are transitioning to a new centralized procurement platform: GEP Smart. This change is designed to improve the way we work with our valued suppliers by streamlining the purchase order and invoicing process.
What to Expect
- Faster invoice processing
- Fewer manual errors with real-time visibility into order and invoice status
- No network fees with access to GEP Smart help desk
What You Need to Know
- Phase 1 (Launched October 2025): Suppliers who support our Power Generation Business (PGD) received onboarding instructions and have transitioned to GEP Smart.
- Phase 2 (Beginning March through May 2026): All remaining suppliers will transition to GEP Smart. Suppliers will receive an email with onboarding instructions and required registration.
- Suppliers: Contact NextEra Supplier Management if you have not received the notification with instructions.
- Supplier onboarding and training is essential to ensure a smooth transition.
- Suppliers not onboarded by their designated go-live date may experience delays in payment and processing.
- Suppliers that solely support Nuclear Plants will not be affected.
